I am back and have a favor.....

I am back from our weekend trip to Pittsburgh to see the Steelers gave. I will post lots of pictures and deals later. First I have a favor. As a mom to a heart baby, I know what it is like to have a very sick baby. I also know what it feels like to have so many people praying for your sick baby. Merry Christmas..............

I wanted to take a moment to say I hope all of you have a Happy Holiday season. I am taking a bloggy vacation to spend time with my family. I will be back after New Years BUT.. you may find a post here and there.

Our annual holiday party was a smash! DH and I cooked for about 70 people. We also over estimated what 70 people eat so, we are living on the leftovers until the Christmas ham is ready!

I do not have a 1 thing wrapped yet. I will be starting that tackle tonight after the kids go to bed. Frugal wrapping this year this year too! We will be using rolls of paper leftover from other years that was of course bought on 90% clearance, recycled gift bags and Sunday comics that we have saved for a few months.

Once again. Happy Holidays! Please be safe and do not drink and drive.

The funniest story.....

I just got back from the nail salon, where I went to get a little me time. As I am standing at the nail polish rack, I can hear the nail tech close by talking on speaker phone to her Dr office. She is shouting to her "I have itchy vagina" ....... OH MY GOD!! Did I really just hear that? AND - on speaker phone! She proceeds to have this conversation in her broken english and at times can not understand what the nurse is asking her SO she looks at the client sitting at her desk to help her. The client then proceeds to explain to her what the nurse means by vaginal discharge. Yes, dear God, she has that too!!

I went back to my seat fighting back the hysterical laughter balled up inside me and prayed she would not be doing my nails cause that stuff might just jump on over to me! That is the last gift I want for Christmas!!

I showed you my Christmas decorations here.... Frugal Finds From your Frugal Friend: My Christmas House Tour...... My DH and I used to argue over what color lights to put on the tree. I wanted all white and he wanted colored, singing, bubble and more. Once our basement was finished, we decided we needed 2 Christmas trees. A his and a her. Here is his.........

He puts the lights on and then lets the kids do all the decorating. I really appreciate that he let's them do this so that they leave their hands off my tree!!! LOL

This year we gave him an early Christmas gift.... these Christmas Story leg lamp lights!!!!

This is the kids favorite ornament... A Hallmark Charlie Brown Christmas..... it even talks!

Here you see one of DH's favorite ornaments - a Hallmark It's a Wonderful Life ornament. Look behind it and you see one of the 3 stooges too!!

This is also where all the gift ornaments and kid made ornaments go! This one is saved from DS when he was in Kindergarten.

And then you have his bubble light menorah!!! We are not Jewish but he fell in love with the bubble lights!

My Christmas House Tour.....

Welcome to my house! Come on in and see some of our decorations! When you step up on my porch, one thing you will see are the sleds my DH had when he was a kid. They sit here decorated every Christmas.

As you step into the house, you will find 2 pictures in the entryway. This first one was sewn by me about 25 years ago! I have always been in love with Santa's! I believe this was my first counted cross stitch project!

This picture was just made by me last winter. I found it in a free sample magazine I received in the mail and loved it to I made something for myself once again!

My powder room is decorated with pine trees. These candle trees were given to me by my husband about 12 years ago. The picture does not do them justice... they are pretty neat little trees.

As you come into my kitchen, you will find this bucket on the counter top filled with past years Santa pictures, this years Christmas cards from friends and a bunch of candy canes!

I have been collecting Santa's since I was a teen. You will find bunches of them all over my house. This bunch is on the countertop next to my fridge. I also have an old mason jar with Hershey Kisses here and one filled with my Boxtops for Education.

(Psssstttttt.... Don't eat those pretzels! They were put in that jar about 20 years ago when my sister gifted me the jar with a santa lid. They look ok... but I would still not eat them!!)

Now come into my living room. This bunch of Santa's is on top of my tv cabinet.

and last but not least.... The Tree................

............... This tree is filled with Santa ornaments. I have 3 ornaments on here that are not a Santa.

I hope you enjoyed my house tour. There is so much more to show but I did not want to bore you. Later in the week, I will be showing some of my DH's Christmas things. He has his own tree in our rec room.

Home Made Gift Tags......

I save The Christmas cards I recieve each year. I also will take cards from anyone else that does not know what to do with them. This pile below came from me, my mom and one of my sisters. DD and I went through and cut pictures from the cards that we liked......


We matched the pictures to some matching colored paper.....

...they look much nicer when you use decorative scissors......

...... and now we have a huge pile of pretty gift tags made from recycled Christmas cards.

Tackle it Tuesday......

A few months ago we got a new tv cabinet in our living room because the old one was falling apart. The old cabinet held 100's of movies. The new one - not so many. For months, all our movies sat in a corner in my dinning room in bags, boxes and wash baskets. Finally, we went through them and decided what to keep and what to sell, give or donate to others. You can see by this stack of mail below..... I sold a bunch!! Along with my Christmas cards, this pile went to the post office.

My father-in-law made this shelf for me to store all the movie we decided to keep. I like being organized so this shelf makes me happy!!!

A reader emailed me this picture. She printed the Goody Ouchless coupons and took them to Rite Aid where on Tuesday's you get 20% off everything in the store with a Rite Aid store card. Her total before coupons and discount was $31.02. Her Rite Aid Tuesday discount was $$6.20. Her Printed coupons totaled $16. Her out of pocket was $8.82. Way to go!!!!!

I ran to Target to pick up a prescription yesterday and got all these batteries and hair ties for a grand total of $2.09. The batteries are free after this coupon... The hair ties will be stocking stuffers for my DD and who doesn't need batteries!!
