Home Made Gift Tags......

I save The Christmas cards I recieve each year. I also will take cards from anyone else that does not know what to do with them. This pile below came from me, my mom and one of my sisters. DD and I went through and cut pictures from the cards that we liked......

We matched the pictures to some matching colored paper.....

...they look much nicer when you use decorative scissors......

...... and now we have a huge pile of pretty gift tags made from recycled Christmas cards.

That works for us!!! Go here to see what works for other people... Rocks In My Dryer

Frugal minds think alike. I do the very same thing. I only use cards that do not hold sentimental value.

The cards from relatives and close friends are used in a different way. Each year we pull them out and pray for the families of each sender.

GREAT IDEA!! I'm going to a wrapping party on Friday - I'll have to dig out the old Christmas cards that I've saved (but never used) and make some gift tags!! Thanks for sharing!

That's a great idea!
We use fabric gift bags and I made a set of cardstock tags which I then laminated, and we use wet-erase pens on them, so we re-use the same tags from year to year..They're not as pretty as yours though. I'll have to make my next batch like this!

These are cute. I like how you've backed them with coordinating paper, too :)

I'm in south central PA, too! :) Nice to meet you.

It's funny that I never heard of anyone doing this before, and today, I've seen three bloggers talking about it on their blogs. It's a great idea! Thanks :)
