If you smoke, please do not throw your butts into the environment. Put them in an ashtray and then dispose of them correctly. I was at a carnival this past Saturday night and was truly disgusted when I saw a man sitting in his lawn chair smoking and throwing his butts onto the baseball field where my son plays. I really hate to sit on the beach and watch people throw butts in the sand too. You all know they will be washed into the ocean an pollute that too. All I ask is if you smoke, don't be a slob about it. Have respect for this world and dispose of your butts correctly! Go here .. Frugal Kid Fun.....

This Easy Bake Oven has provided hours of frugal fun for my kids. Recently, we planned a sleepover for DD and her friend. They were making our dinner with this oven. BUT... with 2 tiny tray, we decided it was too slow to cook everything. After all... it is just a light bulb that is heating the food. SO.....

we moved onto cookie sheets and let the girls do it all......

and this was the main course.

With dessert coming from the Easy Bake Oven! We had so much fun!

Works for me Wednesday....

We have 40+ tomato plants in our garden. We rarely get a ripe tomato before mid July. I have learned that planting a few grape tomato plants in pots on my deck work very well for me - the tomato lover! I usually have ripe grape tomatoes by July 4th. This year, I also planted some snap peas around the edge of these pots. I should also have snap peas by July 4th!! Deck gardening works for me!!

In my weekend travels, I found a penny. Found money jar is at $1.57

Menu Monday.....

I have not done Menu Monday for a few weeks. I thought I would include lunches this week since school is out......

Monday -
Lunch - baked chicken nuggets, apple sauce
Dinner - beef roast, broccoli, mac and cheese

Tuesday -
Lunch- Salads
Dinner - Easy Bake Oven Goodies (DD and a friend will be cooking for everyone. Pigs in a blanket, mac and cheese and English Muffin pizzas. Of course, no Easy Bake Oven Night is ever complete without the desserts!!)

Wednesday -
Lunch - Wendy's (we will be on the go for a few fun things today)
Wednesday - Hamburger BBQ sandwiches, corn on the cob, watermelon

Thursday -
Lunch - left ove BBQ sandwiches, grapes and yogurt
Dinner - grilled chicken, brussel spouts, tomato salad

Friday -
Lunch - grilled cheese, apple slices and carrots and celery
Dinner - Farmers Market night

Saturday -
Lunch - Pizza - (kids birthday pool party at our house)
Dinner - Adult grill night!!

A trip to the ER....

My son has been sick since Saturday. Yesterday we needed to take him to the ER to get his asthma under control. I took some pictures of the lovely artwork that was in our ER room to share with you.

Apparently someone was not very happy with their stay in the ER.

Finally, my son resting peacefully.

I had a heck of a time with the fruit dip i was making for DD's birthday yesterday - at her request. I mixed the pudding and the cool whip together and when I went to add the heavy cream, it came out of the container in clumps. I was so upset since it ruined the whole thing and I was unable to run to the store since my DS was home sick. I had to call DH to run for all new ingredients at his lunch and bring them home to me. I ended up not getting a picture of it all like I wanted to. I did write to the dairy that packaged the cream and told them what happened. The expiration date on the container was June 28, 2009. I received a follow up email this morning saying they will be sending me a refund check for the bad cream. I wish they would also replace the other ingredients that were lost too. After a few problems, it all turned out fine in the end and DD enjoyed her fresh fruit and dip!

Monday June 1st....

This is my DD just a few short years ago.
Today she is 11. Where did the years go? Happy Birthday baby girl!!


She does not want a cake. She is no longer a fan of cake. She want fresh fruit and this dip instead.... (pictures to come later today)

Fruit Dip

1 8oz cool whip

1 large box of vanilla instant pudding

1 pint heavy cream

Mix cool whip and vanilla pudding, then add cream to desired thickness. Chill and serve with fresh fruit.
