Monday.....

We found these baby bunnies in the middle of our yard Sunday morning. We know they are less than 24 hours old since DH just mowed the grass Saturday afternoon. We are not sure why the momma had babies in September or why she had them in the middle of the yard and not in a hidden hole like all bunnies do. We have a ton of stray cats here in the country so we knew these babbies had no chance of surviving the night. I googled how to care for them and we are now following the directions. Trust me... this is not very frugal!! We have spent $12 on food and vitamins to try to let these bunnies make it so we can release them back into the wild. We only bought enough food for a few days. Odds are against them making it though. I will post more pictures as they grow... if the survive. We do not know what we are going to do once they are big enough to jump out of that box but not big enough to release. If anyone has any advise, I would love to hear it!!

oooo - baby bunnies! We rescued two when we were kids - they were a little older than yours. Their nest had gotten run over by a lawnmower, killing the mother and some of the babies.

One of the babies actually survived and we released it by a wooded area near across from our house. We could ick him out for years, since he had a ripped ear!

Good luck!

Oh Cheri, you have given me some hope. All 4 are still alive today! How old was the one when you finally released it?
