1 in 100 children are born with a heart defect. It is the #1 birth defect. We need to create more awareness so that more funding goes towards pediatric research. Besides donating money, donating blood is a great way to help. It takes several pints of blood to just prime the heart and lung machine that is needed to perform open heart surgery. This Valentines Day... give the gift of life.
