Frugal Kid Fun.....

This is a fun and frugal activity to do with kids. We learned this at our local library during story time.

Armpit Fudge

Ingredients for a single serve version:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 Tbsp butter

2 tsp cream cheese

dash of vanilla

2 tsp cocoa

Place all ingredients in a ziploc bag. Squeeze out all the air. Squish and smoosh (under the arm) the bag until all the ingredients are well mixed with a creamy consistency. Eat.

1. If red beets were the last food around, I would rather starve to death than eat them!

2. I was a nightclub manager in my 20's. I truly loved that job while I was single. I only left when I was going to marry my husband. Those late night club hours do not work well in a marriage.

3. I once threw food in my high school cafeteria and I am such a bad aim that I missed the intended target and hit the principle instead!! I had to go to the office. I did talk my way out of punishment though. He liked me!

So today, we printed out cow costumes from here and we cut them out and headed to Chick-fil-a......
Here is what my kids looked like.......

and here is all the free food we took home!

The manager was not sure she wanted to give us a free meal because we were not dressed from head to toe. I kindly explained that the Chick-fil-a website did not say "head to toe" just dress like a cow and that these costumes were printed from their website. So she then agreed and told us to pick any meal we wanted. What a great deal!!!

First Tomatoes....

I love tomatoes! One food I could survive on.. tomatoes!! Love them!! This year I am more grateful than ever for these grape tomato plants on my deck. You see here, my first red tomatoes. I picked them last week. You may also notice the yellow leaves behind the tomatoes. It has been so cool and wet in the North East this summer. My grape tomato plants are turning yellow and the garden tomato plants have lots of buds but no tomatoes. We will be lucky to have tomatoes by August at this rate.
The good side of having a cool wet summer.... we have yet to turn on any air conditioning. We have never made it this far into a summer without air conditioning since we have been married.
Love the electric bill... miss the garden fresh tomatoes!

Old Navy Deal...

I headed to Old Navy this am to get the $1 t shirts that were supposed to be offered today only. I was sad to see they were $5 instead. When I came home, I googled and read that Old Navy pulled the plug on this promotion at the last minute. I am sorry if I caused anyone to make a special trip. I was let down by this change also. My Son's New Camera....

My 8 year old just found this camera in the game closet. It was actually a Christmas gift 2 years ago. We are a little slow at times. He has been having fun taking these pictures. Thank goodness they now have digital cameras and you no longer need to pay to develope pictures like this! LOL! Enjoy!
