We have a section in our garden each year, where we grow Indian corn to use for fall decorations. For several year, we have been growing beans up the corn. First it was black beans. This year we tried a new kind. Then one day in late August, we discovered raccoons ate almost all the corn and destroyed most of the beans. We salvaged what we could. Here they are in the dehydrator..............
And this is what we have after they were dry. Not very much!

awwww! The racoons must have liked it so much! Well atleast they left something for you to tackle.
how neat is that!
those pesky raccoons!
Raccoons got at our corn too. Next year I am going to plant cucumbers w/the corn. The stems have prickles on them. They'll grow up the corn stalks protecting the corn from the coons. Coons don't like it on their feet.
I had critter issue this year too:-( But, once I sprayed my plants with dish water, they stayed away and I had a pretty good harvest.
Thanks for the tip on drying beans. I am going to try that next year:-)
